1. Sultan Balti House, Bracknell, window 'shot at' with diners inside

A 'SHOOTING' that shattered the window of an Indian restaurant has left staff and diners in shock as the terrifying incident unfolded in Bracknell.

An evening meal was ruined for customers at the Sultan Balti House on Great Hollands Square after reports that a shot was fired through the front window on February 13.

It happened about 7:20pm, with images from the scene showing what appears to be a bullet hole in the window and glass sprayed across the seating area.

2. Helicopter spotted above Wildridings, Bracknell

Bracknell News:

A helicopter has been spotted above Bracknell this lunchtime.

The white and blue helicopter was seen at around 1.45pm flying above Wildridings near Mill Pond, Bracknell.

It flew over the Threshfield Playing Fields towards the direction of Point Royal.

It is not currently known why the helicopter is out.

3. Britain's smartest teenager studying for 28 A levels in Berkshire

Meet Britain's smartest teenager, who is aiming to complete 28 A levels - after getting 34 A*s in her GCSEs.

Mahnoor Cheema, 16, from Berkshire, has already completed four A levels in just two months.

And she's hoping to study for at least 28 in total - which she believes would be a record.

4. Old Wokingham Road country park could lead to housing developments

Bracknell News:

A new country park could be created on land spanning Bracknell and Wokingham if both borough councils agree to give it the go-ahead. But the plans hints at the possibility that it could be followed by new housing developments in the future.

Housing developer Bloor Homes wants permission to build the park behind the Newlands Farm industrial estate on Old Wokingham Road.

It says park would act as a ‘SANG’ – meaning ‘suitable alternative natural greenspace.’ These are public spaces designed to offset the impact of new housing developments.
