The club welcomed back returning players and also those new to the club in the build-up to the upcoming season.

A large number of players from the mens, ladies and junior sections attended the event, many of whom had also taken part in the club’s ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions over the summer.

The open day included a number of inter-club games and organiser Caroline Aposey said: “Teams played against each other so we can integrate the new and returning players, brush off the cobwebs, introduce the coaches and get an idea of who will be looking to play where in the upcoming season.

“There was a great turn out on the day from all sections.

“It followed a positive few months of pre-season training and ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions which has seen new and returning players pick up sticks and get involved.” During the open day, Bracknell Hockey Club reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to invest in coaching at all levels of the club from juniors and seniors.

The club recently appointed news ladies, mens and junior coaches and aims to keep membership prices low to attract new members.

All Bracknell Hockey Club teams will return to competitive action on September 20 with the start of the news season.

The club is based at Birch Hill Recreation Ground, Bracknell, RG12 7AQ.
