CLAY pigeon shooter Amber Hill may only by 14 years old but she is already starting to blast the competition out of the sky.

Having only started the Olympic skeet form of shooting six months ago, Amber was too late to qualify for London 2012, but she is already a member of the Great Britain team, ranked number one for England and number three for Great Britain.

The ambitious Binfield teen has her sights on the Rio 2016 Olympics and her grandfather Bill Rogers has no doubts that she will achieve her dream.

He said: "She has already beaten the person going to London 2012 three times on the trot. Now she is just focused on Rio and she says she wants to be number one in the world."

At the age of 10 Amber was introduced to the sport by her grandfather, who is also a keen shooter and she has won numerous accolades over the years, the latest being with the GB team at the European Championship in Cyprus in May when they walked away with the silver medal. Next year she is set to compete in the World Championship series.

Mr Rogers added: "I took Amber to the shooting range when she got bored of watching her brothers play rugby - she picked a gun up and she's not put one down since - she just has a natural ability.

"The whole family is over the moon, she's just done very, very well, she has very good discipline."

Amber is looking forward to watching London 2012 this year and her mother Jo Hill added: "It's a shame she has got to wait to take part but at least it gives her time to train. Hopefully she goes all the way."
