IT wasn’t a good weekend for South Berkshire 1sts in the MBBO Regional Two with two heavy defeats.

On Saturday, they crashed 6-2 away to runaway leaders Reading 3rds, their consolation goals coming from Sam Fox-Harvey and Tom King.

Then on Sunday, South Berks 5ths lost 4-0 to Oxford 2nds, a side hovering just about the relegation zone.

Jonny Campbell, with two, Jackson Brown and Aaron Neville netted for the hosts.

South Berks have a quick chance of revenge as the two sides are due to meet again this Saturday.

Paul Kaplanski netted a hat-trick as South Berkshire 2nds hammered Thame 8-1 in MBBO Division 2 to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation.

There were also two goals apiece for Jack Baverstock and Kaya Campion with Sean Harlingham adding the other. This Saturday they are away to Windsor 1sts.

Duncan Clarke bagged both goals when South Berkshire 3rds drew 2-2 with Sonning 3rds in MBBO Division Three.

The Sonning goals came from Chris Gosler and Chris Roberts.

South Berks remain third from bottom with 14 points from 17 games – leaving them three fixtures remaining.

This Saturday, South Berks are home to seventh-placed Banbury 3rd, while Sonning go Oxford 3rds, who occupy second spot.

In Division Eight East, South Berkshire 5ths defeated West Hampstead 8ths 3-1 to stay fifth in the table with Peter Bailey (2) and Dave Sansome on target. Next up is a trip to Wycombe 6ths.

The club’s Terriers produced a spirited performance away to Division Eight West leaders Thame 2nds, only going down by a solitary goal.

They would have taken over top spot had they won the game. This Saturday, they are home to Oxford 9ths.

South Berkshire Ladies edged home 3-2 against bottom club Wycombe Ladies 2nds in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier Division 1 to stay fourth in the table. This Saturday they visit mid-table Oxford Hawks 3rds.

South Berkshire Ladies 2nds lost 3-0 at Banbury Ladies and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Amersham & Chalfont 2nds this weekend.

In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds drew 1-1 with Scarlet Runners. Next up is a visit from Harlow – High Wycombe.
