RELEGATED Wokingham men ended a disappointing MBBO Regional Two campaign on a high note as they climbed off the bottom of the table with a 3-2 victory at home to Oxford Hawks 3rds, writes Richard Ashton.

Tom King scored twice for the hosts to end the season with 15 goals, while Neil Bennett added the other. Tim Chilvers and Oliver Lovibond netted for Hawks.

Bracknell dropped to the bottom of the table and had their own relegation confirmed following a 4-0 reverse at Marlow 2nds.

Paul Hayes struck a superb hat-trick and Pete Moralee completed the rout.

Bracknell can avoid finishing bottom by beating fourth-placed British Airways on Saturday, the original game having been postponed earlier in the season.

Wokingham 2nds remain in MBBO Division Three relegation trouble following a 4-2 home defeat to Aylesbury 2nds.

John Barlow and Matt Taylor both got on the scoresheet for the hosts, but a Dave How double and strikes from Dan Best and Dan Inkley gave title-chasing Aylesbury all three points.

Prolific pair Tom Pullen and Tom Scott both bagged braces as Bracknell 2nds lost 8-4 at home to Banbury 3rds in a thrilling encounter.

Scott now has 27 goals for the season and Pullen has 18, but the division’s top scorer Tom Boardman grabbed four for the visitors with Noel Britto helping himself to a pair. Adam Hughes and Tom Wilson were the other goalscorers.

Wokingham 3rds ended the Division Seven season with a dispiriting 8-1 thrashing at the hands of Wallingford 4ths.

Bracknell Terriors held their nerve to seal the runners-up spot and promotion from Division Eight West. They eased past Oxford 8ths 4-0 to ensure they finished two points behind champions Oxford 7ths, but two ahead of third-placed Sonning 5ths.
