WOKINGHAM claimed an impressive 53-40 victory against Finchampstead in their Berkshire Premier Netball League game.
Both sides started well but it was Wokingham who led 12-10 after the first quarter, only for their opponents to hit back and gain a 25-23 advantage at half time.
Wokingham – inspired by goal defence Hannah Knight – took control in the third quarter, moving 39-33 up and they held on for a comfortable victory.
Goal defence Vicki MacNeice was Finch’s star performer.
Laurel Park Blaze were beaten 47-37 by Cougars, with goal attack Dale Bonnie and wing defence Judith Nichols the standout performers for the respective teams.
Tilehurst put a young Eagles side to the sword as they destroyed their opponents 62-17.
