Crows made an incredible start to the match with captain Sam Short carving a direct line through the home team defence to dab down under the posts from the first play of the contest.

The score relaxed the visitors although as hard as they tried they were unable to breach the dogged Didcot team for the remainder of the first 40 minutes.

Indeed the hosts could have gone in to the interval with the lead if they had slotted any of the series of penalties conceded by Crows within kickable range.

And they were made to rue their profligacy as Crowthorne produced an outstanding performance to pull away with ease during the second period.

Crows extended their lead early in the half when they ran the ball from a penalty deep in their own half, and following an impressive sequence of passes, a searing run down the right wing by James Huckle ended with him crossing the whitewash.

Dougie Charman added the extra two points and with a 12-0 lead established, Crowthorne put their opponents to the sword as they added a further three tries to complete the victory at a canter.

Firstly man-of-the-match Matt Elsbury - who produced a colossal performance at No. 8 - touched down before more power from the pack led to the fourth score and a bonus point.

Following an excellent catch at a line out by George Watson, the forwards displayed superb control to drive their way towards the Didcot line, with open side flanker James Bailey dotting down for a try on his debut for the side.

And the scoring was rounded off by replacement fly half Bradley Mills, who burst through the Didcot defence having taken the ball flat on the gainline.

The result means that Crows maintain their position in third place following their opening day success against Harwell.

Crowthorne have a rest week this Saturday but will look to maintain their stellar early-season form - which has resulted in them claiming a pair of bonus point successes - when they welcome Berkshire Shire Hall to Cricket Field Grove on Saturday October 11 (3pm ko).
