ROGER Herridge admitted he was 'disappointed' after Wokingham and Emmbrook's four-match unbeaten run was ended by Thame United on Tuesday evening.

Thame, who came into the match off an impressive win over high-flying Kidlington, took the lead in the first-half and then doubled their advantage after the break.

Danny Horscroft went close for Wokingham with a header that hit the post but, unfortunately for Satsumas, they could only manage a consolation goal through Tom Hopper in the closing stages as they were beaten 2-1.

"We played well enough to get something out of the game and I thought that despite the result we gave a good account of ourselves," said Herridge.

"We got caught out with a ball over the top for the first goal but I thought there was only one team really looking to win the match and I was disappointed not to take anything from it."

The loss sees Satsumas slip down to 10th in the Hellenic Premier Division, one point behind Thame and two ahead of local rivals Ascot United.

And Wokingham will have no time to lick their wounds as they host lowly Fairford Town tonight (Thursday, 7.45pm ko) and then travel to Oxford City Nomads on Saturday (3pm ko).

Following the game at the weekend, Herridge's side then have a couple of days off before, on Tuesday evening (7.45pm ko), they travel to promotion-chasing Wantage Town, who are challenging Wokingham's local rivals Binfield at the top of the table.

"I set a target of nine points from these four matches so after losing the first one the pressure is on to win the other three," Herridge commented.

"We'll have to be on top of our game to beat Wantage but we'll go there without any fear and I would love to do Binfield a favour.

"I've got the utmost respect for what they are doing and it would be great to see them do well, we'll do everything we can do get our strongest side out and help them."
