Robins made it back-to-back wins on the road with a 3-1 victory at Cheltenham Saracens last weekend.
Sam Barratt, Shane Cooper-Clark and debutant Lewis Burns helped Robins come from behind to claim their sixth win away from home this season.
Now joint-boss Steve Nebbett wants his players to match that form at Larges Lane, where Robins have won a mere three times in the league and not since a 2-0 success over Flackwell Heath on October 15.
Nebbett told the News: “Cheltenheam was a great win and all credit to the lads. Now Ardley is a really big game and I really fancy us this Saturday.
“Ardley are top but I genuinely think we can beat them. We’ve picked up some important results away from home so we need to take that confidence into the weekend.” Robins lost 3-1 at Ardley in September, but Nebbett recalled: “We gave them a good game over at their place and we didn’t have half the side we have now.
“Sam Barratt, Danny Oliphant and Shane Cooper-Clark all got injured in the game then we had a man sent off.
“Everything went wrong but we still played well and they’ll see us as a tough side. I can’t say we will beat them, but I think we can.” Robins showed plenty of resolve at Cheltenham Saracens on Saturday when they fell behind to a 31st-minute Jamie Hammond penalty after Tom Williams had fouled Jordan Bryan.
The visitors levelled seven minutes later through a spectacular Barratt volley, then, with the wind and slope to their advantage, went in front on the hour when Ben Knight set up Cooper-Clark.
Subsitute Burns rounded off an excellent afternoon when he scored on his debut with his first touch from Cooper-Clark’s pass.
Nebbett said: “It was a pretty ropey first half but we were very good in the second half. It was a deserved win and we needed the three points.
“It’s been too stop-start with all this bad weather so hopefully we can find some momentum now.” * BRACKNELL Town were knocked out of the Allied Counties Youth Cup after a 3-2 defeat to Burnham at Larges Lane on Monday.
Chase Jacobs was among Bracknell’s scorers.
Meanwhile, Bracknell Town Ladies lost 4-0 to Woodley United at Larges Lane in the County Cup semi-final on Sunday.
