RESULTS might not mean much in pre-season, but Wokingham & Emmbrook are unlikely to forget their 3-2 victory over Hungerford Town on Tuesday evening in a hurry.

Bobby Wilkinson's side are one of the favourites for promotion from Southern Division One South & West next season and included in their ranks former Reading FC star James Harper.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who was released by Championship side Hull City a few months ago, has joined old friend Wilkinson at Bulpit Lane while he plots his return into league football.

And after making his Crusaders bow in the 9-3 win over Mortimer at the weekend, Harper played 45 minutes against Wokingham on Tuesday.

But the ex-Arsenal trainee was unable to inspire his side to victory over a determined Sumas side, who came from behind to secure a memorable win.

The Southern League side raced into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Bradley Gray and Harry Goodger.

But the visitors hit back with a brace from triallist Ben Knight and a goal from Luke Lee to complete a remarkable turnaround.

In other pre-season action, Binfield beat Sandhurst 5-1 thanks to goals from James Suarez, Ian Davies (2), Jake Butler and Garry Sargeant.
