BOSS Roger Herridge offered no excuses for Binfield’s exit from the FA Cup on Saturday, writes Dave Wright.
The Moles lost 1-0 at home to Combined Counties League side North Greenford in their extra preliminary round tie.
Herridge said: “Yes, it was a disappointing result, but we got beaten by a very capable side who were marginally better than us, but that said, it could have been a different game had we taken our early chances.
“We worked hard and I cannot knock them for their work rate, but we lacked a little bit of quality in certain areas and at times our decision making let us down as well.”
Herridge has strengthened his squad by signing Asa Povey from Hellenic League rivals Henley.
“Every time I have seen him play he looked the best player on the pitch,” commented Herridge.
“Asa is a box-to-box midfield player and we will be looking for him to push on and get into areas where he can score goals. He should take some pressure off our forwards.”
Povey is set to make his debut against Lydney Town at Hill Farm Lane on Saturday.
Moles also entertain Burnham on Monday evening.
