HAVING secured their place in the Junior League Cup final the previous week, Whitegrove’s fine cup form continued on Sunday as they earned their place in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Trophy final with a convincing 4-2 victory over Reading-based AFC Basildon.

Whitegrove twice fell behind but levelled both times - first through an own goal from a well-placed Jim Hardy corner, and then with a Perry Roberts header from a Jack Gale cross.

Whitegrove dominated the final 30 minutes as goals from in-form Ben Poynter and Tyler Edwards saw off Basildon’s challenge.

Whitegrove will now face P&IC United in the final at Abingdon Town FC this Sunday (10.30am).

In the BTDSFL Premier Division, second-placed Morale Madrid finished their season with a 3-1 loss at mid-table Finchampstead.

Jamie Currie, Jordan Fastnedge and Gareth Ainsworth scored for Finch, while Danny Slinger netted for Madrid.

Sunningdale & Wentworth stay third with games in hand, but they haven’t won a league game in 2016 and lost 3-2 at Raglan on Sunday.

S&W led through Jesse Todd, but Raglan hit back with two quick fire goals before half time, an excellent volley by Carl Moran then an unmarked header by Wayne Carter from a corner.

S&W player-manager Alan Matthias made a rare foray into the action in the second half and equalised with his first touch.

Raglan then saw a goal ruled out for off-side, but Simon Miles rolled the ball into an empty net after a defensive mix-up with five minutes left to secure the win. S&W now need two wins from their final three games to secure second spot.

FC Meta moved up to fourth with a 3-0 win at Golden Farmer.

Goals from Harry Pangborn and Ryan Cooper helped Bracknell Celtic move another step closer to securing the Division One crown with a 2-1 win at AFC Crowthorne. They now only need six points from their final seven games to wrap up the title.

Braybrooke Athletic are still fighting in second after a 2-1 win at Sandhurst FFC. Ryan Old and Tom Smith scored for Braybrooke.

Bracknell Cavaliers remain third after a 2-1 win at 3M.

The two beaten league cup semi-finalists went head-to-head, and Waverley Rangers came out on top, beating Golden Farmer Reserves 2-0.

Ashridge Park beat struggling Newbold College 4-3 and Super Reeves won 5-2 at Hurricanes 5-2.

Goal difference separates the top two in Division Two as Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW could only draw 2-2 at Winnersh Town, allowing Finchampstead Reserves to move above them with a 3-1 win at Berkshire All Stars.

Doug Scholes hit a brace and Dan Marles also scored for Finch. Bracknell Falcons beat Warfield United 4-1 and Club 8 defeated Bracknell Forest 3-2 with goals from Caesar Aog and Jason Ellary (2).

Division Three leaders Bracknell Saint-Germain put the champagne back on ice as they still need three points from their final three games to secure the title after a 4-4 draw with Winnersh Rangers.

Bracknell Titans stunned high flying AFC Crowthorne Reserves 6-1 with two goals each from Chris Bolt, Paul Meyer and Marcus Barnes. Finch Sunday A won 5-3 against Woodley United Reserves while Bracknell Manics Reserves lost 2-0 to Bearwood Wanderers.
