SAM Green scored a late equaliser as Finchampstead snatched a 1-1 draw against Rayners Lane at The Memorial Ground, writes Richard Ashton.

Finch began strongly and had early opportunities through Harry Swabey, Greg Alexander and Dan Blatchford, although Tom Bryant was also forced into a fine save at the other end.

Rayners Lane began to take control as the half progressed, and they took a deserved lead – albeit in controversial circumstances – when a Bradley Morris shot was ruled to have crossed the line, despite the best efforts of Bryant.

The second half was end-to-end but, after Swabey had been sent off for Finch, a Scott Hunter free-kick found its way to Green, and he found the back of the net to rescue a point for the hosts.
