WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook, who were without a league fixture last weekend following their 6-0 midweek mauling at Ascot, are drifting further away at the foot of the table.

They trail Bracknell by six points and fifth-from-bottom Ardley United by 12 with only Abingdon having played more games.

They could badly do with a win from tonight’s (Wednesday) visit to Brackley Town Saints, another struggling side, and against Brimscombe & Thrupp at The Triangle Ground this Saturday.

  • Sandhurst Town

SANDHURST Town missed two penalties before edging to a 4-3 home win over Surrey Intermediate Elite League high fliers Horsley in the Southern Combination Cup first round.

The winner came in extra-time with the scores level at 3-3 after 90 minutes of last Tuesday’s tie, which had been switched to Bottom Meadow.

The Fizzers will be away to Combined Counties League Premier Division side Badshot Lea in the next round.

After a weekend off, Sandhurst return to league action this weekend with a trip to Sheerwater (2pm ko).

The Fizzers are currently 12th in the CCL Division 1 table, with Sheerwater three places below them.

Sandhuurst Reserves became the first team to defeat Hellenic League Division 2 East leaders Penn & Tylers Reserves with an excellent 2-1 win on Saturday. Bradley Bolton and substitute Harvey Griffiths were the men on target.

The young Fizzers are fourth in the table, two points behind P&T.
They are home to Holyport Reserves in the second round of the league’s Chairman’s Cup on Saturday.

  • Eversley & California

EVERSLEY & California are away to Frimley Green in the Combined Counties League Division 1 this Saturday.

The sides are currently fourth and eighth respectively in the table.
Green boast a particularly good home record with six wins from eight games, while Eversley have won four and lost three on the road.
