HURST bounced back to winning ways as they beat Berks County 2-0 in the Premier Division, writes Richard Ashton.

Leaders Reading YMCA went goal crazy as they hammered Woodcote Stoke Row 13-1, while a Kye Franklin brace and a Conor Lynch strike earned Newbury a 3-0 success at Highmoor Ibis Reserves.

Greg Beckett scored twice and Idris Kamara and Josiah Miller were also on target as Mortimer beat AFC Aldermaston 4-2. Lee Wheeler and Michael Porter netted for the visitors.

Champions Marlow United came from behind three times to snatch a 3-3 draw at home to Cookham Dean.

Scott Jackson put the visitors in front with a fierce drive before Ollie Flint levelled matters.

A Jamie Handscomb free kick put the Dean 2-1 up at the break, but Andrew Nichol stabbed home from six yards to make it 2-2 on 51 minutes.

Cookham again went in front when Jake Brooks rifled home another unstoppable effort, but Joe Da Silva’s 69th-minute effort ensured Marlow a share of the spoils.

Division One leaders Westwood United cruised to a sixth straight win with a 5-0 triumph at AFC Corinthians.

In the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup, Mortimer Reserves crushed Hagbourne United 4-0, Westwood United Reserves overcame Turnpike Sports 2-1 and Compton edged past Faringdon Town Reserves 1-0.

Theale lost 4-2 to Hanney United, Cookham Dean Reserves toppled Finchampstead Reserves 2-1 and Maidenhead Magpies Reserves knocked out Taplow United Reserves 2-0.

Berks County Reserves crashed out 3-1 at home to Woodley United Reserves, Reading YMCA Rapids dispatched Hurley 5-2 and TDC Knights beat Wargrave 3-2.

SRCC held their nerve to beat Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves 5-4 on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra time, while Marlow United Reserves were beaten 2-0 by Aylesbury FC Development.

Chris Hayter scored twice and Alex Malinov was also on target as Ashridge Park beat Sonning 3-2 in Division Two, while goals from Ben Lyden and Aqeel Butt gave FC Imaan Lions a 2-0 home win against Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves.

Barkham Athletic conceded their game at Eldon Celtic.

Division Three leaders White Eagles suffered a first defeat of the season as they lost 3-2 at Woodley United A.

Jacek Bojda and Dawid Nagoda scored for Eagles, but goals from Nathan Bingham, Colin Philips and substitute Samuel Mallows proved enough for United.

Michael Buckle bagged a brace for Twyford & Ruscombe in their 2-2 draw at AFC Aldermaston Reserves, James Edwards and Carl Allen scoring for the hosts.

Jamie Wilson hit a brilliant hat-trick for Division Four table-toppers Burghfield as they crushed Highmoor Knights 7-0.

Billy Margetts also scored twice, with Richard Dance and an own goal completing the rout.

Marcin Swierk’s double earned FC Reading Dons a 2-2 draw at Harchester Hawks, while Darren Scott’s goal was not enough for Rotherfield United Reserves as they lost 2-1 at Hurst Reserves.

In Division Five, Berks County Rovers won an astonishing game against Hurst A 6-5. Richard Cumner and James Balfe both scored twice for Rovers, with Christopher Searle and David Parrott also on target.

Danny Young grabbed two goals as Shinfield Rangers thrashed Sonning Sports 4-0, Shaman Goswell and Blair Christie completing the rout.

Jake Brown hit a double for Woodley United B, but they lost 4-3 at home to The Hop Leaf.
