IT was cup week in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday Football League.

Senior Cup holders FC Fernhill are through to the quarter finals after beating Raglan 6-1.

FC Meta are also through after a 14-0 demolition of Berks County where Kai Smith scored five times. Jack Alder and Craig Rees grabbed a brace apiece with player-manager Oli Johnson, Stewart Brett, Jake Brooks, Sam Short and Byron Duncan also on the scoresheet.

Finchampstead Sunday are another side through to the last eight, although they did it without kicking a ball as their opponents Ashridge Park couldn’t raise a side.

Sunningdale & Wentworth were convincing 7-2 winners at home to Winkfield.

They were 5-0 up at the break after early goals from Dan Walker, Davey Blackmore, Paul Blanchard, Jesse Todd and Brian Murphy.

Winks pulled one back straight from the restart when Ricky Taylor raced through and finished well before Tom Green then hit an audacious shot from the halfway line that dropped just under the bar and into the net for Winks’ second. Sunningdale’s Jesse Todd put some gloss on the scoreline as he completed his hat-trick with two late goals.

Binfield Club Athletic of the Premier Division beat an under-strength Super Reeves 5-3.

Division One pacesetters Reeves started with just 10 players and an early Luke Angel goal set Binfield on their way.

Angel then had a goal disallowed before Conor Reeves, Jordan Price and Tom Williams put them 4-0 up at the break.

Reeves hit back in the second period and a Ross Barnett header, Tom Cooper strike and Gian Barker penalty pulled it back to 4-3.

But, as Reeves pressed for what would have been a remarkable equaliser, they were caught on the break and Jake White wrapped things up with Bins’ fifth just before the end.

3M and Bracknell Celtic drew 1-1 after extra time before 3M went through 4-3 on penalties, Jamie Tucker scoring for Celtic with Josh Mason replying for 3M.

Bracknell Cavaliers needed two late goals from super-subs Jack Hanley and Dan Halliwell to see them through as they edged out Hurricanes 2-1. Ash Carter scored for Hurricanes.

Waverley Rangers completed the line-up for the quarter finals following their 4-2 defeat of Braybrooke Athletic.

In the BTDSFL Junior Cup, favourites Golden Farmer Reserves thrashed Bracknell Titans 9-1. Stuart Kent notched a four-timer, Steve Campbell grabbed a brace while Tom Conway and Dan Drew also netted and player-manager Ric Shaw scored the pick of the lot with a brave diving header. Marcus Barnes scored Titans’ consolation.

Bracknell Forest are also in the hat for the next round after a Joe Randle hat-trick helped sink Crownwood Dukes 5-1. Player-manager Josh and Shaun Andrews were among the Forest goalscorers.

Whitegrove FC had Perry Roberts, Jack Gale and Billy Bryce to thank for their 3-0 win against AFC Crowthorne Reserves.

Bracknell Saint-Germain and Woodley United Reserves was the tie of the round as the top-versus-bottom clash from Division Three ended in an epic 5-5 draw after extra time before BSG eventually went through 6-5 on penalties.

Because of the cup only a handful of league games were played out.

In the Premier Division, Golden Farmer came back from two down at Bracknell Manics with four late goals from Carl Wyatt (2), Dan Adams and Joe Warner to seal a win that moves them up to fourth, 10 points behind leaders Sunningdale & Wentworth who they play this weekend.

In Division 1, Sandhurst FFC missed the chance to go third as they lost 4-2 at AFC Crowthorne. Jack Palmer, Joao Jardim, Rio Athwell and Harri King scoring for Crows in what was only their second league game of the season.

Division 2 saw mid-table FC Harmanswater shock second-placed Warfield United as they romped to an 8-0 win,

Scott Ansell and Wayne Antoni both hit hat-tricks with Matt Cory and an own goal completing the scoring for Harmanswater.

Bracknell Athletic hit seven past Bearwood Wanderers, who managed just two in reply from Nathan Eales and Nick Brown.
