BINFIELD CC slipped to a 20-run defeat in their Chilterns League Division One game at Wraysbury.
The visitors made a fine start as Matt Hayman (2-35) and Max Mitchell (2-41) decimated the Wraysbury top order, but a superb unbeaten 91 from Dave Tooze put his side back in the contest.
Jack Collett (3-29) bowled well for Binfield but the hosts closed on 223-8.
The visitors struggled against Naeem Baig (4-50) in reply, but a brilliant knock from number seven Mitchell (85) gave them hope, only for Binfield to be dismissed for 203.
Seventh-placed Binfield complete the season at Coleshill on Saturday (12.30pm).
In Division Two, Binfield 2nds (88) were thumped by 164 runs against Braywood (252-9).
