BRACKNELL Town will be looking to resume where they left off last season when they meet Binfield at Larges Lane on Sunday (6pm), writes Dave Wright.

The Robins defeated their neighbours a staggering six times, four of them coming in cup ties.

But the Moles are still hungry to have a go at Mark Tallentire's high fliers and will be looking for revenge, even though it is only at pre-season level this weekend.

In fact, they could even meet each other twice eight days.

Their first encounter comes on the opening day of a four-team tournament being hosted by the Bracknell club.

It kicks off at 2pm this Saturday with Bracknell playing Combined Counties League side Eversley & California, and then at 6pm Binfield take on Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Sunday's action sees the Sumas facing Eversley in the afternoon, followed by Binfield and Bracknell in the evening.

The tournament continues the following weekend with Binfield versus Eversley (2pm ko), followed by the hosts playing W&E at 6pm.

Being played on a league basis, the top two teams will meet a day later, July 16, to decide the outright winners with the other two sides fighting it out for third place.

Bracknell have been looking for a sponsor for the competition, but have so far drawn a blank and so there will be an admission charge of £3 each game to cover the costs of the match official.

Meanwhile, holders Bracknell have received a bye in the first round of the Hellenic League Cup.

Binfield face Premier Division new boy Woodley United, Wokingham & Emmbrook visit Didcot Town Reserves, Ascot United travel to Wallingford Town, and Sandhurst host Bicester.

The Robins, along with 18 other clubs, also miss out playing in the opening round of the Hellenic Floodlit Cup, but among those in early action will be Sandhurst, who go to Thame Rangers.

Ascot United face Camberley Town on the 3G pitch at Bisham Abbey this Saturday (1pm ko).
