Robins’ in-form striker struck twice to take his Hellenic League and cup tally to 31 goals for the season.

“To score that amount is fantastic,” said Penicott-Bowen.

The first of Cooper-Clark’s brace was a brilliant long-range dipping volley over keeper Nathan Silver.

“He showed great technique; it was a real screamer,” Penicott-Bowen told the News.

And Robins coach Bobby Langridge, a proven scorer himself in his playing days, added: “He hits them like that all the time in training. Shane’s some finisher.” His double came after James King had fired the Robins in front after 58 minutes, with the goalscorer playing his first game since picking up a hamstring injury two months ago.

Cooper-Clark’s goals came in the 62nd and 89th minutes as Bracknell followed up their 2–0 win over Premier Division leaders Highmoor Ibis the previous week.

Penicott-Bowen said: “It was fantastic to back up last week’s performance by coming away from home and getting another three points while also keeping another clean sheet.

“It wasn’t a very pretty game. The pitch was dry and, with the wind a bit of a factor as well, conditions didn’t make it easy to play good football.

“The pitch was dry and it wasn’t easy to play football on and didn’t make things easy. It was a case of keeping it tight in the first half and be patient in the second and wait for our chances.

“We told our lads at half-time to go there and have as many shots at goal as possible and that’s what they did.” Another pleasing aspect for Robins was an impressive debut for youth team centre-back Luke Holder.

“He more than deserved it,” said the Bracknell boss. “I saw him play for our development side the other day. We played him out of position today on the left side of the back four, but he did a fantastic job.

“We also had two other youngsters Sean (Luke’s brother) and Liam Connor. It was great to include them; the future of the club is looking bright.

“As I was saying last week, it is another small step forward for the boys who are learning all the time.” But injury will rule Matt Bradshaw for the rest of the season.

Bracknell will be looking to make it three wins out of three when they visit Holyport on Saturday.
