The early spell was even with Robins’ goalkeeper Gareth Aulsberry denying Tommy Castle and Mike Bawn stopping Shane Cooper-Clark, while Kennie Chamberlain fired wide from distance on Saturday.

Aulsberry then suffered a dislocated finger and received lengthy treatment before Lewis Coyle had his effort blocked with Charles Cassettari lashing the follow-up over the crossbar for the hosts.

There was real panic for Bracknell in the 29th minute with Harry Stevens clearing a goal-bound shot from the line, Aulsberry pushing the rebound away and Grant Goodband eventually clearing the danger.

Cassettari later headed at Aulsberry and soon after he beat the keeper but Goodband cleared.

However Coyle opened the scoring in the 43rd minute as he squeezed the ball past Aulsberry at his near post from 19 yards.

It was a bitter blow for Bracknell who threw themselves in the way and worse followed in the third minute of stoppage time as Castle was left unmarked at the far post to double the lead.

The Robins almost pulled a goal back on 50 minutes as Cooper-Clark met Tom Barratt’s cross but his header was just wide.

Khalid Senussi then cut inside from the left but missed the target from sixteen yards while his corner was headed goalwards by Cooper-Clark but with Bawn beaten, Ben Weedon cleared off the line.

Kidlington had chances of their own though and Chris Blakely headed Coyle’s corner wide and Castle shot over from the edge of the box.

It was 3-0 on 74 minutes as Ryan Curtin fired home at the far post following good work down the right by substitute Rob Johnson.

The visitors refused to give up and Curtin’s wayward back pass allowed Cooper-Clark to race in, round Bawn and coolly slot into the far corner despite the tight angle for his 20th goal of the campaign.

In stoppage time, James King and Senussi combined with the latter delivering a low cross which Cooper-Clark turned onto the right post to complete the action.

Bracknell were due to host Highworth Town last night (Tuesday), before visiting Brimscombe and Thrupp on Saturday (3pm ko).
