BRACKNELL Bees suffered another single-point weekend as they were beaten on penalties before losing on the road.

Bees, who lost in a shootout to Milton Keynes Lightning a week ago, appeared to be heading for victory against Peterborough Phantoms after establishing a two-goal lead through Peter Jasik and Lukas Smital.

However, Phantoms scored two powerplay goals to level the match and then equalised again in the final period after Martin Masa scored Bees' third.

Neither side was able to find a winner in the remaining 10 minutes or overtime so the match went to penalties.

Unfortunately for the hosts, they were unable to beat netminder Stephen Wall and Maris Ziedins won it for Phantoms.

Bees again paid the price for a disappointing first period on Sunday as they were beaten 5-3 at Manchester Phoenix.

Shaun Thompson struck the only goal in the opening 20 minutes for Bees as they went in 3-1 down.

Phoenix extended their lead in the second period before Bees struck back through Smital and Jasik.

However, the hosts scored the only goal in the final 20 minutes to seal victory and leave Bracknell seventh in the table.

Bees travel to Swindon Wildcats on Saturday (5.45pm f/o) before hosting leaders Lightning on Sunday (6pm f/o).
