A popular Bracknell boxing club has announced the opening of it’s new venue following the abrupt closure of BODYZONE gym.

Team Batcave, has been situated in the gym located in Bracknell Leisure Centre for the last 10 years.

After it was forced to closed at the end of April, this put the MMA club in a vulnerable position and without a home for its many dedicated members.

The club, which is now Carlson Gracie Bracknell, posted on their social media that after many years of creating great memories at Bodyzone, they have secured a new venue which will be opening soon.

The social media post said: “As many of you know, we had to move premises at the end of April due to the closure of BODYZONE gym.

“It’s sad to have left the old gym, but we have 10yrs of great memories. Meeting new faces, making life long friends and sharing our love of all things martial arts at the club.

“Luckily this isn’t the end for the club, as we secured a new venue in Binfield Village.”

Carlson Gracie, which will take over from Team Batcave as it leaves Bodyzone said: “After a successful 10yrs of MMA at Team BATCAVE, we have closed this chapter to start a new. We're now focusing on the exciting, ever growing and popular sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

“Great for fitness, self-defence and practiced for competition. You'll learn all here whilst improving your physical and mental strength along the way.”

The future of BODYZONE gym in Bracknell Leisure Centre has been uncertain since 2020, however it wasn't until April 2023 that the continued contract dispute forced the perment closure of the independent gym.

At this time, the owner of the gym Mr Bourne, has claimed that the council "ruined my business" after it's closure.

Thankfully Team Batcave have landed on their feet and have said that they 'look forward to seeing everyone on the mats'.
