SAM Fox-Harvey grabbed a last-minute goal to earn South Berkshire a 4-4 draw with Marlow 2nds in a thrilling MBBO Regional 2 game on Saturday, writes Dave Wright.

They trailed 2-0 after 16 minutes before Daniel Ray opened their goal account on 24 minutes, his seventh goal of the season.

South Berks conceded again in the 42nd minute, but two goals in quick succession from Andy Smith and Tom King brought the scores level at 3-3 by the 66th minute.

When the hosts regained the lead two minutes from time they must have thought the game was won, but a late effort by South Berks was rewarded with Fox-Harvey’s equaliser. He was rewarded with his side’s player-of-the-match prize.

Their 13th point of the season moves them up to fourth place in the table behind leaders Reading 3rds on 19 points, Witney (17) and Aylesbury (14) and this Saturday they will be hosting Reading.

South Berks 2nds were hammered 6-1 at home by third-in-the-table Abingdon and remain last but one in the MBBO Division 2 standings, their consolation goal coming from Joe Hayes. This Saturday they are away to second-placed Thame.

In Division 3, South Berks 3rds were edged out 4-3 by hosts Aylesbury 2nds. This week they are home to fellow bottom-three side Sonning 3rds who are still looking for their first win.

South Berks 4ths have withdrawn their side from Division 5.

But the club’s 5ths play on in Division 8 East and occupy sixth place after losing 4-3 to the second club, Slough Despondents. This Saturday they travel to play West Hampstead 8ths.

Their Division 8 West team went down 4-2 away to Oxford Hawks 7ths and their second successive defeat sees them lose top spot to unbeaten Thame 2nds.

South Berks Ladies were involved in an exciting Trysports League Premier Division 1 game with Oxford Ladies 2nds, the match at Cantley Park ending in a 4-4 draw.

It was looking good for them when they moved into a 3-1 lead, but they could not prevent Bex Andrew from scoring all four goals for the visitors.

They remain fifth in the table with 12 points from eight games ahead of their trip to bottom club Wycombe Ladies this Saturday.

In Premier Division 2, South Berks 2nds slip to 10th in the table after losing away to Henley 2nds by the solitary goal. This weekend they host Banbury 2nds, the side immediately below them in the table.

South Berks 3rds are still seeking their first Division 3 win of the season after losing 4-1 at home to Kidlington. This Saturday they visit Scarlet Runners, another side who have yet to register a victory.

Division 5 leaders South Berks 4ths extended their unbeaten sequence to eight games with a 1-0 win over Maidenhead 5ths. Next up is a home clash with Bicester 3rds.
