SOUTH Berkshire Ladies returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Wycombe Seconds in their Trysports Three Counties League Premier One encounter last Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

The visitors opened the scoring on 10 minutes when a beautifully timed pass from Alison Eastwell was skillfully converted by Holly Bentley.

Despite South Berkshire continuing to apply the pressure, Wycombe were able to level from a second penalty corner, only for the visitors to go back in front after the break early in the second half.

Kelly Hancock managed to find a defender’s foot in the area and a well executed one-two manoeuvre between Yellie Powley-Williams and Sophie De’ath saw the former added to the score sheet.

Wycombe threatened to level on several occasions, but with only a few minutes to go, a quick turnover ball by Chrissie Laird and a clever upgrade by Ally Miller soon won South Berkshire another penalty corner, where Jemima Simpson smashed home to secure the win.
