BRACKNELL Town & District Sunday Football League members are mourning the loss of long-serving secretary, Dave Scovell.
Mr Scovell, who was one of the most well-known football administrators in the area, passed away at home earlier this month.
Mr Scovell had served as secretary of the BTDSFL for the past 30 years and was a well-respected and dedicated supporter of grassroots football.
BTDSFL committee member, Nick Carpenter, led the tributes, saying: "Through his tireless commitment and hard work behind the scenes, Dave was well known and admired from afar by all other leagues he came into contact with.
"In his role as secretary, Dave has been involved with a vast number of club managers, secretaries and players and they will all be shocked and saddened at the news of his passing.
"Dave was a quiet and unassuming man, but a true gent who will be sadly missed by his family and all his friends from the Bracknell Sunday League that had the pleasure to know and work with him."
Mr Scovell's family would like to welcome all those that knew him to attend his funeral service to pay their respects, or to send flowers if they so wish.
The funeral will be held at Great Hollands Crematorium on Tuesday, July 26 at 12.45pm.
Those wishing to send flowers please contact A B Walker & Son, Ellen Lodge, 157 Binfield Road, Bracknell RG42 2BB. Tel: 01344 303707.
