ADAM Bowden claimed glory in this year's Wokingham half marathon - in his first ever run over 13 miles.

The runner, from Harrow AC, sped round the course in 1:05:53 - the 10th fastest time in the race's 28-year history.

Emily Wicks, whose husband Phil had won the mens' race for the previous two years, grabbed the female prize in a time of 1:14:16.

More than 2300 runners braved a miserable and wet day to take part in Sunday's event.
