FIREFIGHTER Ian Bellis did not have to think twice when he rushed to the aid of an injured cyclist on his way to work.
The 24-year-old was driving to Wokingham fire station when he spotted the accident involving the cyclist and a lorry in Reading Road near to Winnersh crossroads.
Mr Bellis, who lives in Reading town centre, grabbed his small first aid box and went to help the man, who was lying unconscious in the road at about 8am on Wednesday, July 11.
He told the News: "He had severe head injuries and I stopped and helped.
"I always carry a small first aid box around. Because of my training as a firefighter it is second nature really."
