Thousands of pounds was raised for an old people's home after the community came together to celebrate the annual strawberry fayre. 

The event took place on June 24 at RMBI Home Lord Harris Court in Sindlesham, part of the masonic charitable foundation, and volunteers joined with staff and residents to enjoy the celebration and raise over £5,000.

Entertainment at the event included Morris dancing, live music, stalls and a barbecue. 

Hannah Lawrence, activities coordinator, said: “The event provides a great opportunity for everyone to come together at the Home and also to recognise the great work of our Association of Friends. 

"Spirits were high and there was lots going on during the day. Our residents and their families thoroughly enjoyed themselves."

The event was coordinated to coincide with the 300th anniversary of Freemasonary. 

RMBI Care company cares for older freemasons and their families as well as members of the community, and have been doing so since 1841, homing over 1,000 people across the country.
