An online map showing the hundreds of traffic regulations in place across Wokingham has been approved at a council meeting.
Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) is applying to take on Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) from Thames Valley Police by the end of the year, and this is a vital step in making that happen.
The new digital map-based traffic regulated order is set to be introduced later in the year, as the council looks to improve road safety and make parking fairer for everyone.
CPE covers double andsingle yellow lines, double parking, parking across dropped kerbs, overstaying in time-limited areas and parking in a permit zone, amongst other measures.
The Department of Transport is currently processing the application from Wokingham to take on CPE, and the final stage will be ratified in parliament.
Councillor Chris Browning said: "Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation this spring into the new map-based TROs, which will go on our website.
"Having all the TROs in one place, easy to access and easy to understand, will make the whole process far more transparent and accessible for people."
If the application is approved in parliament, WBC will take parking enforcement away from the police, who support the handover because it will allow the council to be alligned with other councils in the area.
