LIVES are set to be transformed by a cyclist riding the length of the country.
Kevin Jones is taking on the legendary Lands’ End to John O’Groats bike ride to raise £6k for the Prince’s Trust to help vulnerable young people to transform their lives.
With hundreds of miles of training already under his belt, Mr Jones has his sights set on the Wokingham Bikeathon on June 25 as a key part of his training schedule.
Mr Jones said: “It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to cycle 970 miles.
“There have been some tough rides so far, but I am really looking forward to the Bikeathon in June. It’s fantastic to ride locally with the company of a wonderful variety of cyclists each challenging themselves in their own ways.”
The Wokingham Bikeathon is in its ninth year and regularly attracts over 800 riders aged from six upwards.
The event has both a 15-mile route and a 35-mile route allowing riders to select a distance to best match their abilities and is a popular fundraiser.
In response to the exciting new developments taking place in Wokingham Town Centre, the event will start and finish at Cantley Park and spectators are invited to come along to support the riders.
Mr Jones is training hard to prepare for the nine-day 970-mile journey in September.
