A SILVER hatchback was abandoned next to a fire station after a four mile police chase through the centre of town.
Witnesses described up to 11 police cars speeding through Wokingham chasing the car on Wednesday evening whilst the force's helicopter hovered overhead.
Officers tried to stop the driver in Wildridings Road in Bracknell before they sped off, leading police on a four mile chase into neighbouring Wokingham.
The fleeing driver tried to escape down Denton Road before abandoning the car.
The occupants fled the scene and escaped pursuing officers.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "At around 20.52 there was a failure to stop of a silver hatchback.
"Officers engaged in a pursuit of the vehicle, which was abandoned outside the fire station.
"The occupants ran off. No arrests were made and enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver."
A recovery truck was later seen collecting one of the police cars.
