WOKINGHAM Borough is in the top 10 local authorities for GCSE results.
National league tables, which will be phased out from next year, rank Wokingham Borough as the seventh best area in the country for GCSE results.

Councillor Charlotte Haitham-Taylor, executive member for children’s services, said: “Our pupils leave school with really powerful educational experience behind them from start to finish.

“These GCSE results reflect what we always say, that Wokingham Borough is a great place to learn.

“Many of these students are now continuing to study at sixth form or at college and we hope they will achieve great success in the future.

“Of course those young people deserve praise for their enthusiasm and application; and behind them are supportive parents, resourceful teachers and experienced school leaders and governors who are able to keep that high level of success year after year.

“I’d like to congratulate everyone on their success, well done to all.”
