It weighed more than him!

Mr Cruttenden, 37, of Great Hollands, Bracknell, organised an all-day music festival at The Royal Oak pub, London Road, Bracknell, last Saturday.

There were 11 bands and two vocalists showcasing their talents and the delighted publican would like to repeat the gig next year.

Mr Cruttenden said: “I have always supported Oxfam and the event is known as Oxjam.

“I have seen them in London and I thought it was about time we had an Oxjam in Bracknell.

“The landlord of the Royal Oak supported the idea and it was very successful, with a BBQ and marquee. Hundreds attended from noon until about 11.30pm.” He added: “I thought the bucket of cash felt rather heavy and I put it on the scales.

“I weigh 12st 10lb and the bucket weighed half a stone more than me, so when it is all counted the donations should be a decent sum for such a good cause.” The two vocalists were singer/songwriters Bruce Neil and Corinna Jane.

There have been more than 4,500 Oxjam music festivals run by volunteers since 2006, raising more than £2.3 million.
