FIREFIGHTERS have issued a warning to people to dispose of barbecues sensibly.
Watch manager David Newton, from Wokingham fire station, led a crew which was called to an "out-of-contol" bonfire at a property on the Reading Road, Wokingham, this morning.
The crew dealt with the fire in about an hour, but watch manager Newton said: "A gentleman had disposed of his barbecue ashes on to gren waste about six metres by six metres.
"The ashes were not cool and the bonfire was out-of-control.
"I would urge everyone to be sensible with the hot weather and disposing of barbecues."
