Firefighters called following suspected joyriding opposite Cantley Park
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a field opposite Cantley Park (November 4) early this morning to extinguish two burning vehicles.
It is suspected the cars - one a Landrover Discovery and the other so badly damaged it could not be identified, though believed to be Mitsubishi Shogun - were stolen and then driven round the field before being set ablaze.
One fire engine containing five firefighters was called to the field, in Bell Foundry Lane at around 5.45am.
The crew had to trek across a muddy field but the blaze was dealt with swiftly and the crew left at about 6.45am.
