Thieves broke into a home in Llangar Grove between 11.15pm on Sunday and 3.45am in the early hours of this morning (Monday), where they stole cash and an Audi A3 from the driveway.

The stolen car was later spotted outside Wokingham railway station by police but the driver failed to stop for officers.

Officers are asking residents to ensure they are correctly locking their uPVC front doors, as burglaries continue to occur where the doors have not been secured properly.

Police have asked people to remember three key actions to make sure their house is fully secured and protected: - Pull the handle up to engage the locking mechanisms - Use the key to lock the door from the inside and check that the door does not open from the inside by pulling firmly on the handle - Remove the key from the door keeping it in a secure location, within easy access should you need to exit the property in an emergency but out of sight/access from the door itself Anyone with information on the incident call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
