New sports facility budget recommended

THE 2013/14 budget for sports facilities in Crowthorne and Sandhurst will be recommended for approval next month.
As part of the proposal - discussed at the Edgbarrow and Sandhurst Sports Centre management committee on Tuesday [8] - Crowthorne Parish Council's handout for Edgbarrow Sports Centre will be increased to £22,990.
This would see a jump of 3.2%, despite the parish council announcing last year that only 40% of members at the Grant Road facility are from the village itself.
Bracknell Forest Council would also contribute £242,170.
In addition, Sandhurst Sports Centre would receive £40,620 from Sandhurst Town Council, increased from £39,360 in 2012/13, and £174,810 from Bracknell Forest Council.
These contributions will be discussed at the Bracknell Forest Council executive committee in February.
