A mum and two daughters from Sandhurst will form a team of ‘Charlie’s Angels’ to Walk for Parkinson’s at Welford Park, to raise vital funds for a national charity.

Joan Chalcroft, 75, alongside her children Sharon and Sallyann, will walk the 2.5 mile route on Sunday April 9 for her husband Charles who has Parkinson’s.

Charles, 67, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in June 2015.

Joan said: "When Charles was first told he had Parkinson’s his first reaction was ‘No I haven’t, I don’t shake’ but of course as people with Parkinson’s know, not everyone does. "Then it was a case of finding all the information we could about his condition and what lay ahead, and we discovered the wonderful support provided by Parkinson’s UK.

"When we received Parkinson’s UK’s magazine it contained details of the Walk for Parkinson’s – Welford Park and we felt it was a great way to help raise vital funds, and so Charlie’s Angels were born."

Joan and Charles have a strong belief that ‘Parkinson’s has to live with us, we do not live with Parkinson’s’.

The Walk for Parkinson’s – Welford Park is a sponsored walk around the Welford Park Estate..

There are two different length routes available, 2.5 miles and 6.5 miles.

Walkers will cross the River Lambourn and see the historic Welford Park, explore the wonderful woodland before crossing the fields and taking in the lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
