ANYONE getting a tablet, e-reader or smartphone will not have to spend a fortune downloading e-books, thanks to local libraries.

Members of Bracknell Forest’s nine libraries can access hundreds of free e-books, suitable for most devices.

And what’s more, you do not have to worry about fines because titles automatically expire.

Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, corporate services and public protection, said: “So many people use electronic devices to read books and magazines now and so many more will be receiving devices for Christmas.

“It’s great to download a book for free as soon as you get your e-reader on Christmas Day and get started.

“So make sure your friends or family are members of our Bracknell Forest Libraries which always have so much to offer.” The libraries also have a wide selection of e-audiobooks and e-magazines to download.
