THERE is again heavy traffic congestion in around the Twin Bridges roundabout in Bracknell this morning because of a series of roadworks. This follows major frustration from drivers yesterday, who complained that Wildridings was effectively cut off because of the gridlock.
As well as the ongoing lane closures in Berkshire Way and Downshire Way as part of a long-term scheme to widen lanes around Twin Bridges, the section of Mill Lane going towards the roundabout is shut outside rush hours because of resurfacing work.
The Mill Lane carriageway closure will last until 4pm and is expected to continue from 9.30am tomorrow (Friday).
One lane of Berkshire Way going towards Twin Bridges, as well as one lane on each carriageway of Downshire Way by the roundabout have been shut since July, with this work expected to last about another week. It is part of two-year project to widen lanes on roads leading to Twin Bridges to ease traffic flow ahead of the regeneration of Bracknell town centre.
