THREE shoppers at Bracknell Market walked away with a hamper of goodies each after winning a competition.
Cllr Ian Leake, the Mayor of Bracknell Forest, picked out the winning tickets, belonging to Mr J Day from Binfield, Alison Potter from Winkfield Row and Eve Kalinka, eight, from Bullbrook.
Ms Potter, said: “I have been shopping at Bracknell Market for about eight years. I visit every chance I get and really enjoy the warm welcome I receive.
“I hate shopping in supermarkets and I get recognised by the traders when I visit. There’s a super range of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and eggs. There’s such a range of large seasonal products at the fruit and vegetable stall that for a big family, the prices are more than reasonable.
“We used part of the hamper for a barbecue the other weekend - although the weather was rubbish. We froze some of the meat though and will be using that for a special party for my husband who is celebrating 99 terms of teaching.” Graham Mountford, Bracknell town centre manager, said: “I want to congratulate the winners of this special summer competition and hope the hampers provide a really good time for them, their families and friends.
“The market offers a variety of stalls including, fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, farm produce, sewing accessories and more.
“With the school holidays in full swing a trip to the market would be ideal to keep children occupied - whether it’s hosting a barbecue or looking for activity ideas.” Bracknell Market, on the ground floor of Winchester House, at the bottom of Broadway, is open every Friday and Saturday from 9am-4.30pm.
