PLANS to develop 15 homes on the site of one dwelling have been refused by the council.

Brookstone Ltd had applied to Bracknell Forest Council for permission to develop 15  dwellings and alterations to the existing access, landscaping and parking on the site of a house on London Road – opposite the Amen Corner development.

Max Baker, head of planning, issued the response on behalf of the council, stating that the proposed development would be out of character with the rest of the area.

He said: "The proposed development, due to its siting, size and design, is considered to be out of character with the immediate surroundings.

"The proposed development would result in a piecemeal form of development which would prejudice the delivery of land at Amen Corner South, Binfield for a large, comprehensive, well designed and mixed use development with related infrastructure."
