TGI Fridays has downplayed media speculation of a sale ahead of their Bracknell opening.
Rumours were spread through national media that the chain was set to be sold off, a move which could have put any new branch openings under threat.
However, a spokesman for the company has confirmed that talk of a takeover is simply that, and assured fans of the chain that the restaurant will still open.
The spokesman said: "These are just market rumours and speculation. Fridays is operating very well and ended 2017 in growth.
"We intend to open more great Fridays restaurants across the UK in 2018 and beyond, with a further six new stores planned this year alone, creating 400 new jobs."
TGI Fridays is scheduled to open in the coming months.
