A SIX-a-side adults’ football tournament is being arranged in support of Harry Balaam.

The five-year-old from Bracknell suffers from a rare cancer called Burkitt’s Lymphoma and will shortly undergo his fourth cycle of chemotherapy at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

His family are helping to raise money to buy specialist equipment for the Kamran’s Ward and are hoping the fund will be boosted by proceeds from the tournament.

It is to be hosted by Bracknell Town Football Club on their 3G pitch in Larges Lane on April 23, kicking off at midday.

Harry, who attends Holly Spring Infants School, was a guest of Bracknell Town on Saturday when they played Brimscombe and Thrupp in the Hellenic League.

Town are the current league leaders and, with only five games left to play, are favourites to win the title.

In addition to the football, many other family attractions are being arranged for the day, including hair-braiding, face-painting, tombola and football related competitions for children. There will also be an auction and raffle. and the tournament organisers are inviting Local organisations and individuals are invited to donate prizes.
