THE famous flumes at one of Bracknell's top leisure attractions have been completely demolished ahead of the site's total refurbishment.
Coral Reef Waterworld's flume tower and slides had enjoyed 25 years as the borough's top water attraction but are now no more after Bracknell Forest Council took the decision to revamp the centre in 2015.
These flumes attracted millions of visitors to Bracknell over the years
As part of a £13.3m pound redevelopment, Coral Reef will reopen in summer 2017 with five top-of-the range flumes as well as new facilities inside.
The work has been undertaken after it was found the creaking roof of the centre needed to be replaced.
These pictures show how the centre looked with its flumes in place, and how the outside of the centre looked at the end of July 2016 once the tower and slides had been torn down.
Demolished: The site where the flume tower once stood is now empty
Early preparation work for the new flume tower has now begun while builders continue to erect scaffolding inside the main pool area ahead of the roof removal.
More demolition to the old changing rooms is also underway to make way for the complete transformation of the centre's interior.
