A NIGHTMARE neighbour has been evicted from their Bullbrook home following a string of 'serious' antisocial behaviour complaints.

The Bracknell Forest Homes tenant was evicted by Reading County Court on Wednesday, May 11, following an application by the housing authority and Thames Valley Police.

Linda Wells, Housing and Community Services Director, said: "As a responsible landlord, Bracknell Forest Homes doesn’t tolerate any of its properties being used for illegal purposes and will take action against any perpetrators of serious anti-social behaviour, which causes distress to other members of the community.

"With evidence gathered by working with the police, the council and other residents, we are pleased we could take action and the judge supported the eviction.

"We will always investigate reports of anti-social behaviour and, where there is evidence, will take appropriate enforcement action.

"The legislation allows us to work more swiftly in conjunction with the police and local authority where there is clear evidence of serious anti-social behaviour and illegal activity."

The police issued a closure order on the property before the court hearing.

The closure order can ban people entering or living at an address.

Chief inspector Dave Gilbert, deputy commander for Bracknell and Wokingham local police area, said: "We are committed to working with partners to identify and deal with premises that are causing nuisance and disorder in the local area.

"By working together we are able to act on information received to help combat anti-social and criminal behaviour.

"No-one should have to put up with anti-social behaviour and we would urge anyone experiencing these issues to contact either the police on 101 or their local council or housing association."
