A PERSON has been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital following a collision between two vehicles earlier today.

Paramedics were called to Westhatch Lane in Warfield shortly before 10am to treat a patient with "potentially serious injuries".

A crew from Bracknell Fire Station were also called after one of the cars involved in the collision had caught fire.

When they arrived a man was laying on the ground complaining of injuries to his back and his pelvis.

A female passenger from of one of the cars was also being treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Watch manager Michael Fulwell said: "We arrived to find that police were already in attendance.

"There were two vehicles that had been involved in a collision.

"The male was on the floor with back and pelvic pains and the female was on the tailgate of the police car receiving first aid, she was wrapped in a blanket.

"We were called because there was a small fire in a vehicle as a result of the collision.

"We made the vehicle safe by disconnecting the battery and applying some water."

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service added: "We sent one ambulance crew and an ambulance officer. We were assessing and treating one patient for potentially serious injuries.

"The patient was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by land ambulance."
