A NINE month old baby was rescued from a lift by firefighters alongside seven woman in Bracknell this afternoon.

A crew from the town's station were called to MiFlats in High Street between 4.30pm and 4.45pm after the lift overloaded and got stuck, trapping the women inside.

Crew manager Steve Borham said: "There were seven females trapped and a child.

"An ambulance was called as a precaution because there was a little nine month old baby but it didn't take us long to get them out and they were all fine."

Bracknell fire crew hosted its second charity car wash today, raising a total of £1600 over the two weekends.
