BUS timetables for Bracknell have been over-hauled in order to meet the demands of passengers and will come into effect this February.

Courtney Buses, supported by Bracknell Forest Council, have announced a series of changes to bus times and routes based on passenger feedback with some additional services set to be introduced.

The biggest change will see two new journey's added to the 162a service between Bracknell and Winkfield after parents of children attending Garth Hill and Ranelagh schools slammed the service for it's inadequate run times in the evening which left some children reliant on lifts to and from school.

The 108 service will run further into the Jennett’s Park estate and the 156 service will serve more of the Forest Park area while the 150 will continue along Priestwood Avenue rather than turning into Kingsmere.

Cllr Chris Turrell, the council's executive member for planning and transport, said: "These changes have been made in response to feedback from bus passengers.

"More people will now have better access to a bus service and children attending Garth Hill College and Ranelagh School will have greater choice for their journey home.

"We are grateful for the help and cooperation of Courtney Buses, which mean these changes will come at no extra cost to council taxpayers."

Courtney Buses took over the running of the borough's bus services after company First withdrew all their routes and closed the Bracknell depot in July 2015.

The company have been open about the challenges they faced to start covering the buses for a large area on very short notice.

The changes will come into effect on February 1 with some services changing their bus station bay, passengers are urged to double check the information on stands.

New timetables will be available at local libraries, at town and parish council offices and online at www.courtneybuses.com
