A BURGLAR from Bracknell has been jailed for over three years for a spate of thefts and possession of a class C drug.

Allen Hogg, 36, of, Boyd Court, Priestwood, pled guilty to two counts of home burglaries and possessing the illegal substance at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (January 6).

The court heard how between Sunday November 29 and Monday 30 of last year, Hogg broke into a home in Mill Green through the kitchen door and stole a number of laptops, cameras, a wallet as well as the owner's Toyota Auris.

Between Friday, December 4 and Saturday 5, he forced his way into a property in Webb Close through the conservatory, stealing a TV and a games console before making off in the homeowner's BMW.

He was later arrested and charged on December 8.

The judge also took into consideration eight other thefts across the county and Surrey before sentencing Hogg to 40 months in prison.

Investigating officer, PC John Cruse based in Bracknell, said: "Burglaries have a significant and lasting effect on the victims.

"I hope this sentence helps to bring them some closure and also reassures the public that those who commit such offences will be dealt with robustly."
